My family usually watches Mel Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ' on Good Friday each year. I really admire Jim Caviezel's performance as Jesus. He presents Him in a very human way yet, with a certain strength and dignity that is just captivating
That's how I wanted to present Him here. Usually, when I attempt to draw Jesus, I either simply try to make Him as beautiful as possible, or stuff as much sentiment into the drawing as possible...or both...but I decided I didn't want to make Him look too "pretty". I wanted to give the impression of a man who has walked on this earth. I'm very happy with the way this turned out ^o^
Also, I tryed a slightly different coloring style than I normally do. I ended up getting rid of a lot of the blues that I normally use in my drawings because I wanted the picture to feel warmer.
