Jesus-His Burial (Line Art)

This is the second of a three part series of Jesus portraits.

I have a habit of drawing these sort of pictures during Lent. Drawing can be an effective form of meditation and can be spiritually moving depending on what your drawing

It is a sobering thought that He not only allowed himself to endure the bodily pains of the Passion but also allowed his body to succumb to the macabre realities of post mortem; rigor mortis among other things. He conquered even these.

As with all of my drawings of Jesus nowadays, it is heavily inspired by the Shroud of Turin (though it's even more obvious here as I'm pretty much mimicking it).


This drawing was traditionally inked.
